Holi is sometimes called the “festival of love” as on this day people unite together, forgetting all resentments and bad feeling towards each other. The ritual starts by lighting a bonfire symbolizing the triumph of good. To spread optimism during Holi families and friends play with colors creating rainbows of joy.

During this school-wide event the children will learn how the environments supports us and how we can return the favor. They will learn about life cycles and sustainability through observation and hands-on activities.

This Mexican-American holiday celebrates pride in the Mexican and LatinX culture. Its roots are in the victory in the Battle of Puebla and the values of civil rights and social justice for all.
